I wish you all a very Happy, Healthy and Prosperous New Year. I would like to express my
gratitude for giving me an opportunity to serve as a President of Gujarati Samaj of Greater
Pittsburgh. I am fortunate to have such a wonderful and experienced executive committee team.
The 2009 committee had a great year with many exciting events. Entire 2010 Executive Committee
is thankful to my predecessor Navin Parmar and his team for a smooth transition and their guidance.
I also extend my sincere thanks and appreciation to Varshaben and her entire 2008 Executive Committee,
Chirag Shah and Priyesh Shah to initiate process of obtaining a non-profit status for Gujarati Samaj.
A special thanks to Varshaben, Jamnadas Thakkar, Harilal Patel and Vinodbhai Doshi for their dedicated
efforts in obtaining a non-profit status for Gujarati Samaj. The 2008 committee organized exciting
Gala events to mark Silver Jubilee Year which set a high bar with highly successful year and given
our Samaj a big name in tri-state area. Since 1984, our Samaj has steadily grown into a “Giant family”
and the organization has been a powerful voice through out Greater Pittsburgh in promoting Gujarati
culture and traditions.
We are looking forward for a successful year with your continued support and cooperation.
We will be starting the year with Bowling on 21st of February and followed by a Hilarious
Gujarati Comedy Play “Kona Didha Ne Tamara Rahi Gaya” on March,12th. Please review the
events calendar for more exciting events though out the year. I also encourage and invite
all of you to renew your annual membership and please consider become a Life Member of the
Samaj. The executive committee welcomes all members to contact us with your valuable suggestions
and fresh new ideas.
